IMG_2421Describe what you do in town.

I’m currently the bar manager for Tavola’s new Cicchetti Bar as well as part time bartender over at the Alley Light.

Describe yourself in 5 syllables or less.

Always Learning.

 A favorite dish in town.

Changes week to week with the updates to the specials board at Alley Light. Jose de Brito is a master of his craft and I’ve never left a meal there disappointed. Last week it was steak toast with Roquefort butter, this week it is the Merlot risotto topped with fatback.

A favorite drink in town.

Beer, and lucky for me, we have two great breweries in town. Whether it’s Champion showing off their knowledge with great sour beers to Three Notch’d having balanced and creative pale ales, I always have something fantastic to choose from for whatever mood I’m in.

A favorite local fitness class or fitness event.

I’ll admit right off the bat, I haven’t been in nearly as much as I should, but Vanessa Schnable teaches a great kettle bell class every Friday at ACAC. It’s pretty intense, so if you don’t leave there feeling like you got something done, then you aren’t doing it right. Plus ACAC is working on getting a liquor license so win-win.

Charlottesville is a city filled with local-loving people, and a spirit of community and collaboration unlike anywhere else. Every week, Cville Niche celebrates that spirit by featuring a local’s top picks.
