Every time you see a dance show with the name Veronica Hart on the program, you don’t want to miss out. And you’re in luck. The local dancer and choreographer’s upcoming contemporary dance production Communitas can be seen this weekend at The Haven, Albemarle Ballet Theatre, and Pollak Vineyards.

Describe what you do in town.

I am the founder and director of the Crozet based non-profit professional dance company, concorDance contemporary. We produce two or three original productions a year, and have toured and participated in local and regional art and dance festivals and performances. We have a new show coming up in late August!

Top Picks

A favorite drink in town.

The cucumber ginger martini at Mas. On the patio in the summer. 🙂

A favorite local musician.

Adam Smith and Erik DeLuca have been working with some wonderful dancers I know. Those guys are so talented and create a very unique sound together. I really enjoyed the show they did at The Bridge PAI called “The Plait” with dancers Katie Schetlick and Kristin Clotfelter.

A favorite local fitness class or fitness event.

I LOVE doing the 108 sun salutations at Ashtanga Yoga for the summer solstice! The room is crammed full of people, all moving and breathing in unison. It’s a really powerful experience.
