I never know how to answer this!? I started a management group called Stay Charlottesville that manages properties, event venues such as Old Metropolitan Hall, and Monticello Wine Tour and Coach Company. We try and show people some of our favorite aspects of what it’s like being a local in this little town with the big city feel!

Top Picks

A favorite dish in town, what it’s called, where it’s at, describe what makes it special/different/one of your favorites.

RED HOT BLUES – (noun) undeniably the best nachos that ever existed in town. Can only be found in a restaurant that has no sign out front, hardly a name once you enter, and not even a name on a menu. I think the place is suppose to be kept as a local’s secret therefore if you’re unfamiliar with such place, you need to research where these are. Any local should know otherwise they falsely claim to be local.

A favorite local fitness class, name of the class, fitness center, brief description of the class and why you love it.

Hmm, can the Charlottesville Ten Miler be considered a class? One must train as if going to class. It takes you on a tour of of Charlottesville while introducing you to music and neighbors.

A favorite local music venue, name of venue, where’s it located, what makes it special, most recent show you enjoyed there.

The Garage! Where did The Lumineers first play in Charlottesville? Thats right, The Garage. Sit in a park and enjoy great music. Where did The Lumineers play the second time? Opening for a little know musician named Dave Matthews at John Paul Jones. Play The Garage=Your future is set!
