This shop girl will not only make you want to buy all the pretty things, but she will also make you laugh the entire time. Her contagious smile and positive attitude make every trip to BitterSweet a very sweet experience.
Describe what you do in town (whether it be your job or local interest/involvement in Cville).
I am a former high school Spanish teacher turned retailer! Currently I manage BitterSweet, the most beautiful ladies boutique on the downtown mall here in Charlottesville. During my non-work hours, I champion for City Schoolyard Garden, a local nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the lives of Cville’s youth through the garden.

A favorite dish in town, what it’s called, where it’s at, describe what makes it special/different/one of your favorites.
This town is a food-lover’s PARADISE, so picking out one thing is torture. But everyone who knows me can tell you about the obsession I have with the truffle fries at Citizen Burger on the downtown mall. When I first sit down and they ask for a drink order, I always say, “Bring me the truffle fries, and we can talk drinks later.”
A favorite local artist (any type other than musician), who is it, what type of medium do they use, where was your favorite showing of their art.
My fave local artist is calligrapher-painter extraordinaire Terry Coffey. Recently she has shown at the Women’s Initiative in downtown Cville and Over the Moon Bookstore and Artisan Gallery in Crozet. In her “spare time,” she and her partner create exquisite jewels for their line Woodland Studios.
A spectacular show of artwork she has lovingly curated will be on display at the Women’s Initiative beginning March 16th.
A favorite local musician, name of the musician, type of music, your favorite local show that featured them.
I have been a giddie-groupy-girl for William Walter Band for YEARS. Since I first heard them at Orbit. Recently I have seen them at Devil’s Backbone and it was so cozy and jammy! Those guys just frickin’ ROCK it out and I LOVE it – it’s “alright”!
