Charlottesville is a city filled with local-loving people, and a spirit of community and collaboration unlike anywhere else. Every week, Cville Niche will celebrate that spirit by featuring a local’s top picks. Check out previous local check-ins!

With a background in dance and an endless supply of energy, Liz is a great point person for anything fitness and movement. Whether it’s yoga or fun choreography, she’s a mover and a shaker. Check out her Power Vinyasa classes at Opal Yoga and Hot Yoga!

Describe what you do in town (whether it be your job or local interest/involvement in Cville).

New to Charlottesville, a dancer, choreographer, and teacher of movement, including dance, yoga and Pilates. I am currently choreographing a Flash Mob dance performance for the Tom Tom Founders Festival in April, which includes a mix of Cville locals and UVA students.

Currently working on… a FLASH MOB!

Still accepting new participants–  The more the merrier!  I want to give anyone a chance to perform that wants to be involved, so anyone can join in at any point.  Rehearsals are Sundays from 4:45-6pm at McGuffey Art Center. Studio 20.  email Liz at elizannrey@gmail.com with inquiries.

Describe yourself in 5 syllables or less.

Spunky, soulful, fun

A favorite drink in town, what it’s called, where it’s at, describe what makes it special/different/one of your favorites.

I love the Manhattans at the new bar Alley Light. Whew!

A favorite local music venue, name of venue, where’s it located, what makes it special, most recent show you enjoyed there

I love the Olivarez Trio on Tuesday nights at C&O. It’s such an intimate atmosphere and those musicians are amazingly talented!
