Top Picks

A favorite dish in town, what it’s called, where it’s at, describe what makes it special/different/one of your favorites.

I cannot get enough of the Red Hot Blues at Continental Divide. It seems like such a simple nacho appetizer but it really is so much more. Spicy hand cut blue corn chips topped with goat cheese, jack cheese, and red onions…I’m never disappointed when giving in to that craving!

A favorite weekly or monthly food special, what’s the special, where’s it at, and why you love it.

$6 Wednesdays at Bang! This Asian Fusion tapas restaurant is a great “hump day” treat that is super easy on my wallet. In the warmer months, their back patio is the perfect outdoor sanctuary, and their tasty cocktails coupled with good food and great friends make this place a go-to in my book.

A favorite local music venue, name of venue, where’s it located, what makes it special, most recent show you enjoyed there.

The Jefferson, of course! Located on the historic downtown mall, the Jeff is known for bringing in quite the wide variety of music. I have seen everything from a folk solo guitarist to hard thumping drum and bass DJ. Most recently I saw March Fourth Marching Band. They are amazing jazz fusion band that has dancers, stilt walkers, and a circus style feel. It was definitely a high energy show!
