15th Annual Derby Party to Benefit the Alzheimer’s Association

Posted on May 2, 2013 by

LOGOThe Charlottesville community is full of creative fundraisers that benefit some great causes. This week, we’re thrilled to feature two such events, The Bill Howard Derby Party and The Design House.

The Derby Party – held tomorrow evening, Friday, May 3 at the Charlottesville Omni Hotel – is the companion event of the Bill Howard Golf Tournament which is played the day before – always the first Thursday in May.

Bill Howard started the golf tournament to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association 14 years ago after his father died of Alzheimer’s disease. Along with a dedicated committee, the Charlottesville commercial real estate agent and community leader has devoted every spring to raising funds and awareness about Alzheimer’s disease.

This year the committee has set a goal to raise $100,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association through the combined efforts of the 2013 Bill Howard Golf Tournament and Derby Party.

Community support of the 15th Annual Bill Howard Golf Tournament and Derby Party makes a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease in Central and Western Virginia.
