VA Film Festival Preview: Rust and Bone

Rust and Bone (De rouille et d’os), directed by Jacques Audiard (director-writer of The Prophet) is based on the short story collection Rust and Bone by Craig Davidson.

Ali, played by Matthias Schoenaerts, is a 25 year-old unemployed, single father who moves to Antibes from Belgium to take care of his son. He meets and falls in love with the beautiful Marion Cotillard, a whale trainer at a Sea World-type park. Their connection is strengthened after she goes through a terrible accident that leaves her bound to a wheelchair. A story of struggle, love, trust and passion, this film is a great option for the final afternoon of the film festival.
