Modern art—what is it anyway? Is this a question you’ve asked yourself before?

Then you need to be at Christ Episcopal Church this Friday the 28th at 2:30 PM. As a part of the Mockingbird Fall Conference, an annual gathering of speakers who examine Christianity and culture’s intersections, Dan Siedell will be speaking on that very topic at “Hearing The Scream: Edvard Munch, Modern Art, and Grace.”

Siedell is a Director of Theological and Cultural Practice at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Florida. He will bring his experience as an art museum curator to his discussion of the merits and qualities of modern art that place it in its own category, without having to explain itself.

The cost of the entire conference, lasting Friday and Saturday is $50. To attend Siedell’s talk for just $10, contact Maureen at artsdirector [at] newcityarts [dot] org.

Who knows, maybe that Salvador Dali painting will start to make a little more sense.
