Brews with a View at Second Street Gallery

Posted on September 17, 2012 by

Beer, music and a rooftop party. That’s what $15 will get you this Tuesday, September 18 when you attend Second Street Gallery’s season kick-off fundraiser, Brews with a View.

Second Street is a non-profit art gallery on a mission to convey to Charlottesville and the surrounding area the beauty that is contemporary art. It is located in the City Center for Contemporary Arts building in downtown Charlottesville, and is the oldest non-profit contemporary gallery in Central Virginia. Through many forms of media, including exhibitions, lectures, and classes, Second Street has been able to continue to lead the local contemporary art scene. All proceeds will benefit Second Street’s ongoing exhibitions and art education.

Tuesday’s event will feature two great local artists, as well as kegs from nearby Devil’s Backbone Brewing Company. Nathan Moore will be playing from 7:15-8:45 p.m., and then The Founding Fathers will take over from 9 to 10:30 p.m. Nathan Moore has been described as “leathery-voiced contemporary folk at its finest,” while The Founding Fathers are the derivative of a Charlottesville classic, The Infamous Stringdusters.
