Trivia and Travis at Fellini’s #9

If you’ve been in or around Charlottesville for a few years, chances are you’ve managed to catch a set by local singer-songwriter Travis Elliott.  If not you’re in luck, because he’s got a few regular spots playing around town, including tonight’s “Trivia and Travis” at Fellini’s #9.

Travis ElliottTravis Elliott is perhaps best known for his laid-back stage presence and an enormous catalog of well-selected and cleverly-executed covers by artists ranging from Sade to George Michael, Radiohead, the Beatles, and beyond.  He usually fits a number of originals into his set as well, touching on topics such as love, heartbreak, and occasionally, lasers and outer space.   Aside from his weekly solo appearances at Fellini’s and West Main Restaurant, he and his band have played at venues all over the state, including sets at the Rooster Walk Music and Arts Festival, the Crozet Music Festival, the Jefferson Theater, and the Southern, to name a few.   He has released two records to date, including a 2003 EP and 2010’s Swan Dive, and he’s currently working on a third album with a tentative release in April of this year (more info on that to come!)

“Trivia and Travis” happens every Tuesday at Fellini’s #9, located at 200 West Market Street.  Beginning at 8 pm, it includes four rounds of trivia with “Trudy” the Trivia Master, with a weekly appearance by Travis Elliott (and friends) beginning at 10.  Best of all attendance is free every week!  So come on out, grab some delicious Italian food from the Fellini’s kitchen, test your wit, and dance to some great local music!  Hope to see you there!
