Valentine’s Day Plans for Any Relationship Status

Posted on February 14, 2012 by

Valentine’s Day is here, and that brings mixed emotions for everyone – couples and single folk alike. Wineries, restaurants, couples massages, flowers, cards, bed and breakfasts are standard fare. So here are 14 options for today to share with significant other, a friend, a group or just yourself!
We’d love to hear what your plans are for today, if you have any other suggestions or  share with us your past local Valentines Day experiences!
1) As listed in our newsletter this week, Veritas is doing extended hours today! Celebrate love and have FUN for Vday with your partner or a group of your friends. The tasting room at Veritas is open late, selling their wines by the glass or bottle, and offering a tapas menu for $7 a plate.

2) For people looking for less complications (and less spending), take your lady (or man, or friend) for a walk on the Saunders-Monticello Trail. It’s free to walk (about 2 miles) and parking is free. Whether it’s cold or warm, it’s a great scenic walk, and also usually very quiet. There’s also a separate trail nearby (called the Secluded Farm trail). Check it out here.
3) For those feeling romantic, local florist Hedge Fine Blooms is a great place for flowers. Hedge has the typical red roses, of course, but so much more to offer, such as customized bouquets. If you haven’t already placed your order you’ll have to stop by the shop itself to pick up a bouquet (Located at Main Street Market and Downtown)
4) Blue Moon Diner will be having a Bacon Lovers Dinner on Valentine’s Day. So spend Vday with the one you love the most: bacon.

5)Use the code BEOURVALENTINE and get 10% off a 16-piece assortment of Gearharts chocolates at

Couples: Reservations required, but enjoy a 3 course dinner and specialty cocktails in the cozy ambiance of the dining room. 7) Blue Mountain Valentine Heart-Shaped Pizzas and local barefoot bucha on tap? Who could ask for more! Check out Blue Mountain Brewery this evening for a sure-to-please Vday meal!
