Get your ‘Mo on, Cville

Movember: What is it? It’s an international movement, origins: Melbourne Australia. It’s a month-long movement responsible for the rapid growth of facial hair (or the ‘moustache’) on men everywhere. “With their Mo’s, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

Dani Antol of rock paper scissors is helping spread the word in Cville, and what it means for her female-run business.

On November 13 at Boylan Heights, join the Mo’s of Cville for a night of great moustaches, and a great cause. Cville Niche was able to ask Head ‘Mo Johnny Pritzlaff a few questions about the upcoming event.

  • What is planned for the Movember party at Boylan? The party takes place from 6-9pm… Boylan and Starr Hill will both be donating a combined $1 per beer sold. We will also have a contest with cash prizes for the best mustache in 5 categories: Miss Movember, Ultimate Mo, Lame Mo, Best Celebrity Mo, Best Mo in Character. Hopefully some of the cash prizes will be donated.
  • What does it mean to be the Head ‘Mo? Simply to get the word out about Prostate Cancer Awareness. I also am making a valiant attempt to grow a mustache.
  • How do you see Movember become a local movement in Cville? The movement will catch on because it is fun and for a good cause. It is about increasing awareness.
  • What does it mean for our immediate community, and in a broader sense – men’s health? To raise Prostate Cancer awareness, and hopefully move towards finding a cure. In the US all of the donated funds go to the Livestrong Campaign.
  • How can events like the Boylan party impact our community / how can locals follow the foot steps of the party? The Sponsors and I will provide the event, and we want people to show their support by attending the event, donating any amount of money to the cause, and growing a Mo.
  • Any tips on growing your own, personal best Mo? Most importantly, do you have a real Mo or a Mas Guapo MoMy Mo is actually terrible. It is fairly invisible and is very blonde and not thick… you probably won’t be able to see it.

So, Cville, what are you doing to celebrate Movember?

Join Johnny and all the other Mo’s of Cville at Boylan, Sunday, November 13 for a Mo-tastic event. movember boylan
