Get your game on with Wordplay @ the Omni

Ever read the dictionary front to back? Know way too much about words in general? Extensive vocabulary? Then Wordplay at the Omni is for you!

It’s all about the Wordplay tonight at the Omni Hotel. And no, I don’t mean Jason Mraz’s Wordplay (although I wouldn’t hate it).

What is this Wordplay you might ask? This Wordplay is Charlottesville’s own live game show! It you love crosswords, word games, and trivia, this is definitely an event for you. This is a team-based competition for people who love words, vocabulary, pop culture, history, literature, and showing off how smart they are!

If you have ever had the dream of being in the audience of Jeopardy, while Wordplay can’t promise Alex Trebek, it can promise you all of the trivia you could desire right here in Charlottesville. Not only that, but you will also enjoy food, refreshments, entertainment, and be entered to win prizes! So why sit on your couch and watch trivia on TV when you could be a part of the fun?

Tickets can be purchased at the event or online. Wordplay is a fundraiser for Literacy Volunteers Charlottesville-Albemarle, an independent, non-profit organization that offers free, confidential, individualized basic literacy and ESL instruction to adults.

The Hook took 1st Place in 2010.

So, if you’re Mr. A to Z, tonight it’s all about the Wordplay.

The fun starts at 6:30 pm @ the Omni. The game starts at 7pm. Be there, or be uselessly pun-y for life!
