Craving a night at the ballet? A night of glamour, grace and glissades?
Charlottesville Ballet is the area’s shining star (and only) ballet company, and has proven to be a formidable presence in the contemporary dance scene in Cville, as well.
The show will feature classical dance – such as the Pas de Trois from Swan Lake – as well as new contemporary pieces by company and guest choreographers – such as a visual art piece inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper, and choreographed by Ariadne Conner, founder of Charlottesville Ballet. The show will also premiere a new work choreographed by Pittsburgh-based choreographer Peter LeBreton Merz – a multimedia piece inspired by the poems of E.E. Cummings – as well as a world premiere by guest choreographer Colby Damon.
Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. To reserve your tickets, contact the PVCC Box Office at 434.961.5376 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Tickets are also available for purchase at Plan 9 Music, Sidetracks, the UVA Arts Box Office, and Greenberry’s Coffee (Barrack’s Road Shopping Center).
So be sure to catch their performance this Saturday, as it is sure to sweep you out of your seats and onto your feet (after the show, of course).
