Learning new skills can be enriching. And the Charlottesville Trade School says that they are priceless. Literally.
The school offers classes based on a bartering system, in which students bring any item their teacher may request—a plate of cookies, a coffee mug, perhaps an old book or mixed cd—in exchange for a lesson of some sort.
This week, the Trade School offered a class entitled “The Art of Simpling- Creating Lotions and Potions with Herbs,” whose purpose was to empower anyone to create his or her own lotions and creams from herbal oils. Past classes have included “Indoor Vermiculture,” “Home Made Cleaning Supplies 101,” and “OMG, How do I file my taxes?!” among several other interesting topics.
Classes typically last between one to two hours and take place at the instructor’s preferred location. The Charlottesville Trade School is always looking for new instructors to share their skills with the community; if you possess any unique skill that you wish to share with Cvillians, do not hesitate to contact the school.
