TGIF, right?! The weekend is here, and you can’t help but have a pep in your step. Or, maybe your in need of a viper-style pick-me-up. Well, look no further this Friday night, because ACME has just the remedy.
Tonight, head out to The Southern for a night of toe-tappin’ swing and sultry jazz produced by none other than local favorite ACME Swing Mfg. Co.
According to singer Mary Beth Revak, the first portion of the show will be dedicated to the band ‘showing off their instrumental chops.’ “Expect hot horns, vicious violin, dead-on drumming, brilliant bass and great guitar,” adds Mary Beth. “This is a side of ACME that will be an eye-opener!” Specific songs to look out for: Cherokee and Under the Influence, both original compositions by Rick Larue (violinist).
The second hour of the show, ACME is going to make it impossible to stand still. The eight-piece band is known for making walls shake, floors quake, and feet get a movin’. ACME will tip their hats to Dixieland with “That’s A-Plenty,” seek salvation with “Sing, You Sinners,” and of course, tempt with their Viper Suite.
So, as you swing into the weekend, don’t forget your dancin’ shoes!
